London, October 23rd, 2025
October 23rd marked a significant milestone for UKTAG with the successful launch of its inaugural Industry & Embassy Networking Event, held at the prestigious Farmers Club in central London. The event served as a platform to strengthen connections between the UK agri-tech industry and the international diplomatic community.
Representatives from eight embassies and twenty agri-tech companies attended, reflecting a shared commitment to collaboration, innovation, and sustainable growth across global agricultural markets. The guest of honour was The Baroness Nicholson of Winterbourne, a distinguished former UK Trade Envoy to several Central Asian countries, whose presence underscored the importance of international cooperation in advancing agricultural technology and trade.
The event commenced with an informal networking and welcome drinks session, providing delegates an opportunity to connect and exchange insights in a relaxed atmosphere overlooking the Thames. This was followed by a welcome from Rob Grinnall, representing UKTAG, who outlined the ongoing work of the UKTAG team — Chris Jackson and Svetlana Collier — in promoting UK agricultural expertise abroad and supporting business engagement across emerging markets.

A key highlight of Rob’s address was the introduction of the Royal Three Counties Show as a major platform for international engagement. He encouraged attendees to consider the opportunities the Show presents in promoting UK agriculture, fostering partnerships, and developing a shared vision for positioning the event as a global centre for agricultural visitors and companies.
The formal programme continued with presentations from the event’s Gold Sponsors, each delivering insightful ten-minute sessions showcasing their companies’ latest technologies, products, and contributions to the evolving agri-tech landscape. These talks highlighted the strength and diversity of British agricultural innovation, from sustainable farming solutions to advanced digital technologies driving the sector forward.
Following the morning sessions, guests enjoyed a superb three-course lunch prepared by the Farmers Club’s kitchen team. Over dessert and coffee, the spotlight turned to the participating embassies, whose representatives shared valuable insights into their countries’ agricultural priorities, investment opportunities, and areas where UK expertise could play a transformative role.

In his closing remarks, Rob Grinnall expressed his sincere gratitude to all attendees — the embassy officials, company representatives, sponsors, and speakers for their enthusiasm and contributions. He reaffirmed UKTAG’s commitment to nurturing ongoing dialogue and collaboration between the UK and its international partners, with the goal of fostering innovation, sustainability, and shared prosperity across the global agricultural community.
The event concluded on an optimistic note, with delegates leaving inspired and eager to build upon the new connections made. Plans are already underway to make the UKTAG Industry & Embassy Networking Event a regular fixture in the agri-tech calendar — a testament to the growing influence and ambition of the UK’s agricultural technology sector on the world stage.
