Algeria Agri-Event

On Thursday, 27th November, the Algerian Embassy in London and the Algeria British Business Council, in collaboration with UKTAG, hosted an exceptionally successful agri-tech event. The combined efforts of UKTAG and the organising partners ensured an impressive turnout, bringing together a diverse range of companies from across the agricultural sector. Attendees were able to take part in focused B2B discussions, allowing meaningful conversations around trade, investment, and collaboration. Alongside this, a series of insightful presentations provided valuable context on market trends, policy developments, and emerging opportunities in Algeria.

His Excellency Nourredine Yazid expressed strong optimism about the future of trade between Algeria and the United Kingdom. He highlighted not only the promising opportunities available but also the importance of fostering a long-term, mutually beneficial partnership.

Representatives from companies in both Algeria and the UK attended to explore how they might work together, to learn more about the evolving opportunities within Algeria’s agricultural sector, and to engage directly with organisations eager to strengthen two-way trade.

Rob Grinnall delivered a talk on the crucial role of veterinary expertise in advancing the Algerian livestock industry. He outlined the ways in which UKTAG and its associated UK companies are well positioned to support Algeria’s development goals, sharing examples of technical assistance, training, and industry-led initiatives that could contribute to sustainable growth.

The day concluded with a splendid reception at the House of Lords, generously arranged by Mr Martyn Roper OBE of the ABBC. The evening brought participants together in a warm and welcoming setting, providing further opportunities to build on the momentum of the day’s discussions. The atmosphere was one of friendship, mutual respect, and a shared sense of purpose.
