Verdure Technology: Reframing Greenhouse Production as a Volumetric System
Verdure’s growing system is a redesign of how greenhouse space is used. The system turns greenhouse infrastructure from a horizontal into a volumetric production asset.
Conventional greenhouse production is built on a fundamentally horizontal logic. Crops are grown across a single layer, typically at ground level, even though the greenhouse structure itself offers substantial protected vertical space. In the UK, a large proportion of salad crops are still grown in soil-based systems within greenhouses, with productivity constrained by this single-plane approach.
Verdure’s technology (Patent pending) is based on the premise that combines vertical farming technologies and brings it to the greenhouse growing environment : by re-designing the growing system to operate vertically within the greenhouse environment, Verdure converts unused volume into productive growing area, effectively transforming a two-dimensional farming model into a three-dimensional one.
