Innovative ideas, current affairs and future challenges facing the UK’s agriculture industry all to be discussed at Royal Three Counties Show this June
For this event
This year UKTAG will work closely with the organisers to bring international delegates to the event
From collaboration and labour pressures to water management, building restoration and emerging technologies, the Royal Three Counties Show will address pertinent topics facing the UK’s agriculture industry today.
The prestigious and long-standing three-day event will bring farmers, industry experts and policy makers together to explore how the agricultural industry can remain productive, resilient and profitable in an increasingly changing environment.
The Future of Farming Theatre will act as the hub for specialist advice, thought-provoking discussion and practical insights for farmers, landowners and those working in the agricultural and land-based sectors.
Highlights include a debate hosted by Love British Food called ‘From farm to menu: Who shapes Britain’s sustainable food future’, to be held in the Future of Farming Theatre.
“Our panellists, including farmers, wholesalers and catering operators, will share knowledge, insights and practical advice on what we can all do to ensure a robust domestic supply chain.”
Commented Alexia Robinson, who founded the organisation responsible for the annual British Food Fortnight 25 years ago.
Collaboration between farmers over machinery, staff and different business models, changes to employment law alongside advice on building resilient teams and working with family members, the changing food landscape, alternative fuels for the future and diversity and inclusivity across agricultural communities, will all be addressed at the Future of Farming Theatre this June (full timetable of discussion topics available here).
Virgin Money will be hosting the discussion on collaboration between farmers.
“Investing in farming is incredibly important to us, particularly as the sector navigates a period of significant change and opportunity. Events like this play a vital role in bringing farmers, industry experts and advisors together to share knowledge and support informed decision making.”
Commented Virgin Money’s Agricultural director for the South West, Jonathan Powell.
There will also be discission on using Electronic ID for livestock and ELMS (Environmental Land Management Schemes), flooding and water management and the restoration and use of buildings, together with inspiring insights into soils nutrient density and a Farmers’ Question Time, giving attendees the opportunity to seek information on particular issues affecting them.
This year’s Royal Three Counties Show will host no fewer than 12 national shows for cattle, sheep and goats: The Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society National Summer Show, British White Cattle Society, Gloucester Cattle Society, Longhorn Cattle Society, South Devon Herd Book, Red Poll Cattle Society, Dorset Horn & Poll Dorset Sheep Society, Hampshire Down Sheep Society, Jacob Sheep Society, Texel Southern Feature, Oxford Down Sheep Breeders’ Association and the British Boer Goat Society.
