As we approach COP30, to be held in Belém, Brazil, in November 2025, the Brazilian Presidency has made land restoration a top priority — placing it at the heart of strategies to ensure food security and reduce carbon emissions. Led by Brazil’s Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, this initiative aims to form an international alliance to attract investments and cutting-edge technologies for the recovery of degraded areas across the world.
This initiative is in line with the objectives and climate leadership of the UK, reinforcing our shared commitment to global climate action, sustainable agriculture, and ecological resilience.
In this context, the UK Government in Brazil is launching a call for companies, research centres, universities, individual researchers, and other relevant stakeholders. We want to identify and bring together the most promising technological solutions and research projects that address land restoration and promote sustainable agricultural practices. The UK’s recognized leadership in research and development, combined with its vibrant ecosystem of innovation in agriculture and environmental technologies, positions it as a key player in the global transition to sustainable and climate-resilient food systems. Your participation is essential to contribute to bringing the best of our solutions to COP30!
