PRESS RELEASE 16 Sept 2021Launch of new website aimed at boosting international tradewww.agritech-uk.orgThree leading UK industry bodies have joined forces to launch an initiative aimed at boosting trade opportunities for British companies around the world.UK Technology for Agriculture and Genetics (UK TAG), the Commercial Horticultural Association (CHA) and the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA) are working together to promote the skills, innovation and technology capabilities of their members.A major part of this collaboration is the launch of a new website on behalf of the Department for International Trade (DIT), which will enable overseas businesses to source British companies from an extensive directory.

The AgriTech-UK Directory, featuring companies and products from across the UK, will be a focal point and main source of contact for overseas farmers, breeders, growers and the agricultural industry in general. The portal will also enable overseas embassies and government trade departments to find UK companies and their specialist services.“It’s vital that we tell the world what we’re good at, and this new website will help us to get the message out there,” said Chris Jackson, Export Manager for UK TAG.“

The UK produces some of the best technology in our industries, and the world needs to know about that, and take advantage of it. “The collaboration of UK TAG, the CHA and the AEA is very powerful, and all three bodies believe that this new website will make a huge difference to future trade deals.” The user functionality on the website’s directory has been developed to include a more complete experience for both producers and buyers alike. Key information is now featured on producer profiles – including products, and services – and is searchable by sector, product and region.By signing up to the platform, users will gain exclusive access to several ‘Meet the Buyer’ events each year, as well as the ability to communicate directly with international buyers through an internal messaging system.
